Parent to Parent USA (P2P USA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit national organization committed to ensuring that parents of those with disabilities or special health care needs have easy access to quality emotional and informational support. We operate in 40 states and collectively reach well over 300,000 families and professionals.Who we serve
Our members are organizations that serve parents who have a child with special health care needs. Our evidence-based model has been developed by and for parents to address the powerful emotions, new responsibilities, stress, and isolation that parents and families face in caring for a child with a disability or special health care needs.Why parents love us
Our belief: No parent should feel alone. Ever. Parents tell us our peer support model is directly associated with long-term reductions in parenting stress, improvements in parenting self-efficacy, parent well-being, and child behavior, as well as improved coping, a more positive orientation, and personal growth.
The American Academy of Pediatrics endorses the importance of parent to parent support as a Family-Centered Practice to improve health outcomes in children and families.
